Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei DVD rips
5th DVD re-subbing project.

This time I've decided to work on Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei. I did episodes 1-8 and half of 9 by myself for the most part. Blinx was kind enough to provide me with the ripped scripts he made for the .iso's, so that made 10,11 and 12 much easier. All the scripts are timed to the DMJZ DVD rips. You may notice a portion of the blackboard and other signs have gone untranslated, this is because they were changed by Shaft when the episodes were released onto DVD, since this is a one man group and I can't read kanji, they've been left out for the most part. Any other signs you don't see translated are due to my opinion that they would have been a bitch to typeset, OR had no impact on your understanding/enjoyment of the show. 90% of this project uses the A.F.K translations, with the exception of one episode that uses the BakaTsukai translations.

If anyone wonders why this took so long, just watch a couple episodes and you'll understand. For each episode there is roughly 500 lines of dialog and 200 lines of signs to work on, and almost all of it had to be ripped word for word from the hardsubbed AVI's that A.F.K released, then it had to be timed, typeset, styled and QC'ed. If anyone saw my work on Hidamari Sketch, this is about twice the quality of that. Of course, this also took twice as long to complete.

You can view my rant for each episode in the last 7 seconds of each file, it is also where I give credit to those who helped me if there was anyone.

As usual, if you find any glaring mistakes, you can email me here fuktlogik@gmail.com

Damn right I am. This took for bloody ever, and had me in permanent despair the entire time I was working on it.

RE: Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei
No scripts-only release like the usual? And thanks for the work, will check it out as soon as possible =)

EDIT: I think you should give more lead-in for the spoken subs. I checked episode 1, and the subs for the spoken lines appear exactly at the same time as the spoken line, or even a split second behind. I'd negative delay the subs on playback but that would break the typesetting timing so I couldn't do it. Well yea I can extract and retime but I'm lazy =P

Just a little feedback from me Wink

EDIT again: ep1 10:41 it's supposed to be Tsunoda Hiro and not Tsunoda Hito
And I get the karaoke=lame, but there's not even any OPED TL? Not talking about the romanji, I mean the English.

I found the subs quite readable, so I didn't feel the need for any kind of lead in/out. I just don't feel the need to know what the op/ed songs say, so I will always leave the Karaoke out. Thanks for pointing out the mistake at 10:41, if I ever need to upload that ep again I will fix it first. Keep in mind that both episode 1 and 2 are from Shiroh's ripped scripts, just the typesetting and styling is mine.

If you really must know what the songs are about, you can find the translation, romaji, and the kanji in the links that Gendou has on his site.
